Hi all. I am trying to set up my Google Voice account using a SIP softphone. I've been doing research, and I have been practically bashing my brains in trying to figure it out. All I'm getting out of it is to set up some other service, link it with another, and finally link it with Google Voice. So any help with the Softphone would be appreciated.
Secondly, I got an app that uses Google Voice, yet when I call my family, they see the phone number of my home phone. They call me back at the home phone. I don't want that. Can I set it to show the Google Voice number instead? And maybe disable the home phone?
Yeah, that's what I did with mine. Gave it a free number to call (ipcall.com I think) and made that number my primary. So when people call my google voice number (51267pika2), it rings all devices registered with my SIP URL (my two laptops, Razr M, craptacular...) Wonder if Google could be convinced to add support for SIP URLs as numbers?
Not sure about the caller ID thing, sorry.
